App Privacy Policy
The short version
A summary of the policy below, not a replacement for it.
What your partner sees. Once you and your partner have both answered a topic, you see each other's answers on it. Before that, they see only that you answered, never what you said. Notes you write are private to you. A revealed answer cannot be taken back. (Section 3.)
What leaves the app. To write your shared summary, both partners' answers and notes on that one topic, plus both first names, go to a third-party AI provider. Nothing else does — not your email address, not your phone number, not your payment information. The app carries no advertising SDKs, and nothing about your pregnancy or your answers is ever sent to an advertising platform. (Sections 4 and 5.)
What happens if you delete your account. Your account, your answers, your notes, and every shared summary that narrated your answers are permanently deleted — within 24 hours from our systems and 30 days from our backups. Your partner keeps their own answers and their own access. There is no undo. (Section 9.)
Effective date: August 31, 2026
This policy covers the Daisy's Guide app. It is operated by Volk Ventures LLC, doing business as Daisy's Guide ("we," "us," "our").
Our website and store are covered by a separate policy. This one is about the app: what it collects, why, who it goes to, and how to get rid of it.
The app is built for two people to answer the same questions independently and then compare. That shape determines almost everything below, so the sections about your partner and about how your answers are processed are the ones worth reading.
1. What we collect
Your account. Your email address or Apple sign-in identifier, and the display name you choose. Display names are limited to 30 characters and are shown to the partner you link with.
Your answers and your notes. Your answers to each topic, and any private notes you write on them.
Your partner link. Who you are linked with, and when.
Your purchase. Which guide you bought, when, and through which channel. Payment card details go directly to Apple or to our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.
Onboarding answers. A small set of questions at the start, such as whether the baby has arrived and whether you know the sex, used to decide which topics you see.
Device and usage data. Device type, operating system, app version, which screens you visit, which actions you take, and crash reports. We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for crash reporting.
A notification token, if you turn notifications on.
Support messages, if you write to us.
The app contains no advertising SDKs, shows no ads, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. Why we collect it
- To run your account and link you with your partner
- To show you the right topics
- To generate the shared summary when you and your partner both finish a topic
- To deliver the access you bought and keep it working
- To send notifications you asked for
- To fix crashes and understand which parts of the app work
- To answer your support questions
- To keep the purchase records our tax and accounting obligations require
We do not use your answers or notes for marketing, we do not sell them, and we do not train our own models on them.
3. Your answers and your partner
Your partner sees your answers on a shared topic once you have both answered. That is what the app is for. Before that, they see only that you have answered, never what you said.
Once a topic is revealed, it cannot be un-revealed. There is no way to retract an answer your partner has already seen.
Your notes are private to you. They are not shown to your partner.
Your display names appear in the shared summary.
If your partner deletes their account, their answers, their notes, and every shared summary that narrated their answers are permanently deleted. Your own answers, notes, access, and stickers survive untouched. Topics you had both revealed return to an answerable state. We tell you inside the app the next time you open it.
4. Health information
Because the app is about pregnancy and raising children, some of what you tell us is treated as sensitive health information under Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's SB 370, and similar laws. That includes that you are expecting, roughly how far along you are, the sex of your baby, and answers on topics touching birth, feeding, sleep, or your child's health.
We use it only to run the product: to choose your topics, to generate your summaries, and to answer your support questions.
We do not sell it, and we never send it to an advertising platform. No pregnancy stage, no due date, no onboarding answers, no topic answers, and no inferred health status goes to Meta, TikTok, Google, or anyone else in that business, by any method.
We do not collect precise location, biometric data, genetic data, or medical records.
To withdraw consent to our collection of this information, or to have it deleted, email us with the subject line "Health Data Request." Doing so ends your ability to use the app, because your answers are the product. We will tell you that before we act, not after.
5. How your answers are processed by AI
When you and your partner have both finished a topic, we generate a written summary of where you agree and where you differ.
What is sent. Both partners' answers on that topic, both partners' notes on that topic, and both partners' first names go to a third-party AI provider, which writes the summary and returns it to us.
What is not sent. Email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, payment information, and anything you entered anywhere else in the app.
What happens to it. The summary is generated once per topic per couple and stored, so it is not regenerated each time you open it.
One thing we are not going to claim. We are not going to tell you the AI provider does not use your text to train its models. That is a statement about someone else's systems, and we have not independently verified it. When we have, we will say so here.
We will tell you who our current AI provider is if you ask.
6. Notifications
If you turn notifications on, your device gives us a token so we can send them.
- The token is used only to notify you about activity in your own account.
- Your answers and your results are never included in a notification. A notification tells you that something happened, never what was said.
- The token is deleted when you turn notifications off, and when you delete your account.
7. Who we share it with
Only with the companies that operate parts of the app for us, and only so they can do that.
- Supabase, on Amazon Web Services in the United States, for our database and hosting
- Apple and RevenueCat, for purchases
- Stripe and Shopify, for web purchases and redemption
- A third-party AI provider, for shared summaries, as described in section 5
- PostHog, for product analytics
- Sentry, for crash reporting
- Klaviyo, for email
We also disclose information when the law requires it, when we need to protect someone's safety or our rights, and if the business is ever sold, in which case this policy goes with it.
We do not sell your personal information, and the app shares nothing with advertising platforms.
8. How long we keep it
- Your account, answers, and notes until you delete your account.
- A minimal purchase record indefinitely, in the reduced form described in section 9.
- Analytics and crash data for up to two years.
- Support messages for three years.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. You will be asked to type DELETE, because the action also destroys shared material your partner can see.
Deleted permanently:
- Your account, your sign-in identifiers, your display name, and your accent color
- Every answer and every note you wrote
- Every shared summary on a topic you and your partner had both completed, because those summaries narrate your answers
- The reveal records themselves
- Your notification token, and any queued notifications about you
- Your customer record with our purchase provider
Survives:
- Your partner's account, answers, and notes. Deleting yours does not delete theirs.
- Your partner's access. It was never conditional on being linked to you.
- A minimal purchase record — a transaction identifier and its source, the purchase date, which guide was bought, and whether the second seat was used. Your account identifier is removed from it. It holds none of your answers, none of your notes, not your name, and none of your contact details. We keep it because it is what keeps your partner's access working, what lets you restore into your own place if you come back, and what our tax and accounting obligations require.
Timing. Deletion is immediate. Shared summaries are destroyed the moment you confirm, so your partner's next visit is already correct. Your records are purged from our active systems within 24 hours and from our backups within 30 days.
There is no undo, no grace period, and no reactivation window. Deleting your account does not refund your purchase.
If you cannot sign in and still want to delete your account, email us and we will verify you against your purchase record.
10. Your rights
Email legal@daisysguide.com to:
- Get a copy of what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your account and your data
- Withdraw consent to our collection of health information
- Stop email from us
We will respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer. We will not treat you differently for asking.
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, and limit the use of sensitive personal information under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Residents of other US states with privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, have similar rights, including the right to appeal a denial. We apply the same process to everyone. If we deny a request, we will explain why and how to appeal. Washington residents may also complain to the Washington State Attorney General.
If you are in the UK, EU, or EEA, your information is processed in the United States. You have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time.
11. Children
The app is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. The app is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
The app is about children. It is not for children.
12. Security
Answers and notes are stored with row-level access controls, so one account cannot read another's data except through the partner link you created. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Backups run daily on a rolling window.
No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to tell you otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
13. Changes
We will update this policy when what the app does changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle your answers, your notes, or your deletion rights, we will tell you by email or in the app rather than only posting it here.
